Criminal Division

Criminal Division Information

The Criminal Division has jurisdiction over felonies, misdemeanors and some infractions. The Division maintains an index of filings and record of criminal dispositions.

  • A Felony is a crime punishable by death, or imprisonment in the state prison or county jail and fines.
  • A Misdemeanor is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail, or by fine, or both, except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any law of this state.

Criminal cases are handled by Departments 1, 2, 3, and 7.

Delinquent Fines

All delinquent court accounts have been referred to Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP (LINEBARGER, LLP) for collections. Delinquent court accounts that were being collected by El Dorado County Revenue Recovery Division, including accounts collected by Franchise Tax Board, have transitioned to Linebarger as of June 30, 2017.
